Each year our In Focus series invites trailblazing composers to the RNCM. Behind the scenes they work closely with our staff and students, culminating in a compelling day of performances. This Autumn we’re delighted to welcome Dr Cassandra Miller.
Collaboration and transcription are the building blocks to Cassandra’s compositions. Born in Canada, she now lives in London, UK and is renowned for creating deep listening experiences with her music.
Her works have been performed by , Ensemble Resonanz, London Sinfonietta, Ensemble Plus-Minus, Apartment House, La Nuova Musica, Continuum Contemporary Music, and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. She’s received one of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s 2021 Awards for Artists, and has twice received the Jules-Léger Prize for New Chamber Music, Canada’s highest recognition for composition.
