Daniel Shelvey joins National Opera Studio

Congratulations to baritone Daniel Shelvey on being selected to join this year’s National Opera Studio.

Established by the Arts Council as a link between music colleges and the main UK opera companies, the NOS works with leading opera companies – English National Opera, Opera North, the Royal Opera House, Scottish Opera and Welsh National Opera – to provide professional training of the highest quality for singers and repetiteurs who have the potential to become the leading artists of their generation.

Daniel (pictured above as Ulisse in RNCM Opera’s production of Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria) who graduated in 2013, now joins a long list of RNCM singers and repetiteurs to take part in the scheme, including Lee Bisset, Alice Coote, Benjamin Lewis, Elizabeth Karani, Hanna-Liisa Kirchin, Heather Lowe (above with Daniel), John Pierce, Eda Seppar and, among others, Antonia Sotgiu.
